MFG Data Model API Tutorial

Introduction

In this tutorial, we’ll cover the first steps in your journey with the MFG Data Model API in a quick and simple way. At first, we’ll go through the prerequisites needed to make everything work, and then we’ll have a basic introduction to the GraphQL interface used by this API.

Once we get that covered, we’ll go from basic queries to more advanced ones, always using the Explorer, just like in the image below.

sample queries

Currently there are two versions of the API: v1 which is in production but will soon be replaced by v2 that is currently in public beta. We will be using the v2 API in this tutorial, so make sure that’s selected in the Explorer as well later on:

Don’t worry if you’re not a full-stack web developer. You won’t need that level of expertise to follow this tutorial (although it’s required to connect with one to build your own app leveraging our APIs).

As long as you are familiar with Fusion designs and curious about new technologies, you’re in good shape to go through the contents shared here.

This tutorial is divided into these main sections:

  1. Prerequisites and GraphQL

  2. Explorer and First Queries

  3. Async Operations

  4. Project Administration

  5. Custom Properties

We’ll start by ensuring that everyone addresses the prerequisites.
